Shore Foods, Artisan Products and More

Grown in Monmouth, an April 14 fair, celebrates local farms and craftspeople.

If you like to eat, and you appreciate the art of the handmade, follow the throngs from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, April 14 to OceanFirst Bank Center arena at Monmouth University, located on Larchmont Avenue off Cedar Avenue in West Long Branch.

That’s when and where Grown in Monmouth will present “Made in Monmouth,” an exposition of all that’s produced in the Jersey Shore county that’s home to many farmers and food artisans, as well as makers of fine crafts. The expo is sponsored by the county’s Board of Freeholders.

According to Susan Folta, of Monmouth County Economic Development, “more than 270 makers of consumer products in Monmouth County will gather to show and sell their products.”

These include people who make everything from candy and cakes to wines and artisan foods, as well as those who repurpose billboards, make clothing and rugs, write books and paint.

Admission is free and so is parking.

Find details in the coming days about some of the 270 vendors at www.growninmonmoutth.com and www.madeinmonmouth.com. Additional information also is available by calling 732-431-7470.
