New Options Coming to Long Branch’s Pier Village; Other Dining News

Plus: Two new restaurants open at American Dream in East Rutherford, while a Hoboken steakhouse is temporarily closing.

Restaurant Openings:

21A on Broadway, Long Branch

Co-owner of Bella’s Pizzeria in Long Branch, Alex DiFede opened 21A on Broadway in late 2021. DiFede and his wife’s new restaurant has an American menu with Mediterranean fusion, including crab cakes, lamb chops, salmon and more. 21A’s design was inspired by speakeasies and can seat up to 40 guests between the first and second floor.

1st RND and House of ‘Que, American Dream Mall, East Rutherford

Two new restaurants recently opened in Court A of American Dream, which is on New Jersey Monthly’s list of the 52 Things You Must Do in New Jersey. 1st RND is a sports bar where burgers and beer can fuel a night of cheering on your favorite team. House of ‘Que, from Texas Pitmaster Michael Rodriguez, serves in-house smoked chicken, sausage, brisket, ribs and more.
1 American Dream Way, East Rutherford

Multiple Concepts at Pier Village, Long Branch

Kushner Real Estate Group has acquired three new leases in The Shops at Pier Village in Long Branch. The first will be Gavone’s, a fast-casual pasta concept from an existing Pier Village restaurant, Sirena. Sundae Donuts will offer freshly baked donuts, as well as ice cream, cookie doughs and more. Doggie Sweets Waggin’ will provide treats for our canine companions. All three places are slated to open by Memorial Day.

Restaurant Closings:

Arthur’s Steak House, Hoboken

Owners David and Wanda Jacey announced that Arthur’s will shut down for renovations on January 30, with plans to reopen in 18 months. Arthur’s encourages guests to enjoy their famous griddled potatoes, garlic bread, burgers and French onion soup before the temporary closure. The owners will sell Arthur’s memorabilia as well.
