Old Favorites, New Looks, New Folks

For 36 years, the Market Roost, 65 Main Street in Flemington, has been serving pastries, savory fare and a well-touted Sunday brunch in the heart of Hunterdon’s county seat. The Old Bay, the New Orleans-style restaurant and craft beer house at 61 Church Street in New Brunswick, will debut later this month a new menu and a new look, says general manager Tommy Brennan. The new will include cocktails–and “awesome beer, as always,” he says. 732-246-3111 oldbayrest.com.

McCullough’s Pub & Restaurant, 3016 Ocean Heights Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, has a new food and beverage director, Dan Anderson. Recently of Sandi Point Coastal Bistro in Somers Point, Anderson was previously general manager of Ram’s Head Inn, Absecon. Ken Klein, a native of Ventnor and graduate of the CIA, has been named McCullough’s new chef. Klein spent 12 years at restaurants in Vail, Colorado then returned to the Shore to cook in Atlantic City casinos. His revamped menu includes several incarnations of “loaded potatoes,” as well as tuna tacos and his signature chicken Umbria. 609-926-1863 mcculloughsgolf.com.
