Maine-Style Lobster Rolls Come to Sea Isle

Quincy’s Original Lobster Rolls, opened earlier this summer, is a welcome addition to the Shore's dining scene.

Is there anything that screams summer more than a lobster roll? How about eating a fresh and plump lobster roll down the Shore?

At Quincy’s Original Lobster Rolls in Sea Isle City, you get to have both. Located just two blocks off the beach, it’s a great place to grab lunch. It may not be as cheap as a slice of boardwalk pizza, but it’s a nice option to have when you’re craving something fresher.

Quincy’s menu is simple, which makes for easier, speedier ordering. You have your choice of four different kinds of rolls, all stuffed with seafood and served on grilled split-top hot dog buns (two baby romaine leaves can substituted for the roll at no charge), that come with chips and hummus. Options include the Classic ($14.25), prepared “Maine style” with chilled Maine lobster, a bit of mayo and lemon butter; the Lobster Salad Roll ($14.25); the Crab Roll ($12.15); and the Shrimp Roll ($10.25). I was temped to try the Four Roll Combo ($48), which comes with one of each, but didn’t come with group large enough to tackle that challenge. Next time.

Lobster also makes an appearance in the lobster mac ’n’ cheese ($10.25) and lobster grilled cheese ($14.25). And there are a number of New England style soups and chowders on the menu, like Maine lobster bisque ($7.25) or the ubiquitous New England clam chowder ($6.15).

You can take your order to go, but we decided to stay and enjoy the air-conditioned fast-casual spot. The dining area features seafood-related decor and a mix of high top and standard dining tables. It’s bright and clean, and so was the food.

Quincy’s opened in Sea Isle earlier this summer, and is the company’s third location. The lobster roll chain started in Berwyn, Pennsylvania in 2014 and a year later opened a spot in Cape May. This new Sea Isle storefront is much larger—40 seats compared to Cape May’s four outdoor seats— and is already a popular addition to the Shore town’s dining scene.

Take a break from the sun and stop in for lunch, or for the “Lobster Roll Happy Hour” from 3-5 PM Monday through Thursday, when all rolls are available for $11.
