On Halloween night, Rat’s will be serving a prix fixe menu highlighting the best of French cuisine. The three course meal includes a butternut squash bisque (made with mushroom and pomegranate), seared duck (atop sweet potato puree and a red beet splatter), and a pumpkin pie tart for dessert (served with black sesame ice cream). Rat’s will also be featuring a signature Halloween drink: Ratty’s Poisoned Apple Cocktail. Made with mezcal, chartreuse, apple, pomegranate, and dry ice, one sip of this will get you into the spooky spirit. Book your reservations online early to enjoy a spooktacular night.

Each Thursday after 7pm, Jockey Hollow owner Chris Cannon serves his favorite wines without revealing their names or brands. One wine will be served with each of the five courses, which includes an array of creative dishes. From small plates like Beet Salad and Mushroom Bisque, to Entrees like a perfectly cooked NY Strip or Pan Roasted Halibut, each bite will be one to remember. Which wine will be the best? GFG Cafe in Hoboken is hosting baking and cooking classes every weekend in October. This weekend, learn to master the art of the delicate French Macaron with a classically trained pastry chef. With no experience required, the instructor will show you step by step how to make the perfect macaron, from piping and baking to assembling and of course, eating! The class will specifically focus on flavor profiles and filling techniques so your macarons stand out. All equipment and ingredients will be provided for each baker, $50 per person.

Doughnut Party, Montclair Bread

To celebrate the spookiest day of the year, Montclair Bread is using their homemade doughnuts to create a day of fun for the community. Although Halloween may look a little different this year, this North Jersey bakery is making sure families still have a memorable day together. With three time slots available, kids (ages 5 and up) and adults will be welcomed to make and decorate their own spooky doughnuts. All participants are encouraged to dress in costume and warm apple cider will be served. The event will be held outside and all guests are required to wear a mask. Space is very limited, so make sure to purchase tickets online.
