Hale and Hearty, 464 West Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, has recently opened, offering fifteen to twenty daily soups created with house-made stocks and fresh ingredients, as well as tossed-to-order salads, grilled panini, sandwiches on artisanal breads, desserts, and a children’s menu. Chicken, beef, seafood, vegetarian, dairy-free, and low-fat soup options are available, and soups are labeled V (vegetarian), L (low-fat), and D (dairy-free) when applicable. Signature soups include tomato cheddar, chicken vegetable, green and yellow split pea with double-smoked bacon, Tuscan white bean with spinach, ten vegetable, three-lentil chili, and New England clam chowder.
