CRAVE OPENS

There’s no longer any need to hunger after the cooking of Anthony LoPinto, as he is the executive chef at the newly opened Crave Restaurant & Lounge, 168 Passaic Avenue, Fairfield. Some items on the menu are: grilled mini American Kobe burgers with Cheddar and three dipping sauces; vegetarian sampler of hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, marinated olives, feta, and grilled pita; honey maple double-cut pork chop with red-wine-braised cabbage and Fuji apple sauce; pan-seared diver sea scallops with wild mushroom barley, pearl onions, and sweet potato sauce; linguine with roasted garlic, tomato, spinach, eggplant, capers, olives, white wine, and basil; and slow-grilled whole fish with olive oil, lemon, and sea salt. BERNARDS INN, BERNARDSVILLE
At the piano bar at the Bernards Inn, 27 Mine Brook Road, Bernardsville, which has live music nightly, executive chef Corey Heyer is offering an Inn Tastings menu that consists of smaller-plate appetizers and entrée presentations selected from the dining room’s à la carte menu. SOUP’S ON
Hale and Hearty, 464 West Mount Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, has recently opened, offering fifteen to twenty daily soups created with house-made stocks and fresh ingredients, as well as tossed-to-order salads, grilled panini, sandwiches on artisanal breads, desserts, and a children’s menu. Chicken, beef, seafood, vegetarian, dairy-free, and low-fat soup options are available, and soups are labeled V (vegetarian), L (low-fat), and D (dairy-free) when applicable. Signature soups include tomato cheddar, chicken vegetable, green and yellow split pea with double-smoked bacon, Tuscan white bean with spinach, ten vegetable, three-lentil chili, and New England clam chowder. LET’S DO BRUNCH

Listen to jazz during brunch at Stone House at Stirling Ridge, 50 Stirling Avenue, Warren, where executive chef Jerry Villa offers tempting selections such as salmon cakes sambal with mango salsa and microgreens, five different styles of Benedicts (try the sirloin with grilled asparagus and horseradish hollandaise sauce), and a variety of omelets, pancakes, and salads. 11 AM to 3 PM.
