FESTIVAL OF FISH COOKING CLASS

On June 3, expand your recipe repertoire at a Festival of Fish cooking class taught by Suzanne Lowery at Classic Thyme Cooking School, 710 South Avenue West, Westfield. The menu for this full-participation class will include: crab cakes with red pepper remoulade; spicy mussels meuniere; Provençale seafood stew; broiled lemon-Parmesan tilapia; pesto-stuffed sole in white wine sauce; and pan-fried hoisin salmon. 7 to 10 PM; $59. GLADSTONE TAVERN, GLADSTONE
Looking for a place to hold an event? The Gladstone Tavern, 273 Main Street, Gladstone, has a second-floor room that can accommodate up to 40 people for a seated event. In warmer weather, a landscaped terrace can seat up to 50 guests or accommodate as many as 100 for an elegant cocktail party. The entire restaurant is also available for larger groups. COOKING FOR A CURE
On June 5, Cooking for a Cure, featuring a five-course tasting menu with wine, will be held at the Park Steakhouse, 151 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge, to raise money for breast cancer research. The following chefs will collaborate on the menu and prepare one course each: Jason Avery, Pera Restaurant, NYC; Gaspard Caloz, Madeleine’s Petit Paris, Northvale; John Halligan, Park Steakhouse, Park Ridge; Elijah Stillittano, Chakra, Paramus; and Denis Whitton, Harvest Bistro, Closter. 7 PM; $150. NJ CHEF AT THE BEARD HOUSE, NYC
On June 2, Alex Capasso, chef at Blackbird Dining Establishment, Collingswood, will be at the James Beard House, 167 West 12th Street, New York City, creating a French and Italian Wine Tour dinner along with Michael Franco from Le Bec-Fin, Philadelphia. 7 PM; $165; James Beard Foundation members $125. COOK AT SELIANO, ITALY
From October 12 to 18, Arthur Schwartz will be conducting his Cook at Seliano, Italy class. Class size is limited, and the cost will include all meals, wine, and cultural and gastronomic excursions, plus an elegant room (double occupancy) and three intensive cooking classes.
