Going down the shore? Some of the seasonal and enticing specials on Chef Pat Trama’s menu at David Burke Fromagerie, 26 Ridge Road, Rumson are "vine ripened" watermelon salad with prosciutto di parma, baby mozzarella and balsamic tarragon emulsion; fresh Dover sole with sweet corn butter and confetti cherry tomatoes; and jumbo soft shell crabs with "goldfish" cracker crust, fingerling potatoes and Atlantic shellfish "chowda". OLIVE, PARSIPPANY
The recently renovated Olive Restaurant, has reopened at 1 Hilton Court, Parsippany Hilton, Parsippany. One aspect of their innovative menu is the “Eat Right” selections with nutritional information listed such as total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, carbs, protein, and calories helping the diner to make informative choices. BEER ON THE BATTLESHIP
On June 21, the “Garden State Craft Brewers Guild 12th Annual Beer Festival” will be held on the deck of the Battleship New Jersey, 62 Battleship Place, Camden. Sixteen breweries will be offering samples of their products and food will be available for purchase. Noon to 4 PM; $40 includes tasting glass and self-guided tour of the ship. DINNER AND A COOKING LESSON
On June 22, a one hour “Summer Meals” demonstration cooking class followed by a three-course prix–fixe dinner with menu selections from the day’s recipes will be held at Restaurant Serenade, 6 Roosevelt Avenue, Chatham. 5 PM; $75 exclusive of tax, tip and additional beverages.
