Slack Tide Beer Pairing Dinner at the Cape May Ferry Terminal

Plus: Other food events in Princeton, Atlantic City and beyond.

Beer Pairing Dinner at the Ferry
Friday, January 11, 6:30–9 pm

Cape May Ferry’s Sunset Lounge might seem like an aspirational destination at this point—we’re far from beach vibes in January. But “Dinner at The Ferry with Slack Tide Brewing Company” will feature five courses from Cape May Ferry Terminal’s executive chef George Galati paired with beers from Cape May County’s Slack Tide brewery. And don’t worry about the weather, you’ll be safely tucked inside (with waterside views). Tickets are $66 and include everything (food, beer, gratuity). Cape May Ferry Terminal, 1200 Lincoln Boulevard, North Cape May; 800-643-3779

Barefoot Grape Stomping at Four Sister’s Winery
Saturday, January 12, 1–4 pm

Four Sisters in Belvidere is opening its production line up to civilians this Saturday, with another installment of Barefoot Grape Stomping. It isn’t just fruit and aggression, mind you—the afternoon actually involves a formal wine tasting with a supper of spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, dessert, and coffee, and then, of course, the stomping. Tickets are $37, and all-inclusive. Call for tickets. Four Sisters Winery, 783 N. Bridgeville Road, Belvidere; 908-475-3671

Winery Sunday Music Series at Terhune Orchards
Tuesday, January 13, noon – 5 pm

Terhune Orchards Wine Barn is 150 years old, but we’re guessing between the food, wine, and music, you won’t notice a draft during the upcoming “Sunday Music Series.” Bill O’Neal and Andy Koontz are the day’s featured musicians (check out a sample here) and will play from 1 to 4 pm. Meanwhile you’ll find cheese and chips and various nibbles to accompany your wine, with no cover or admission charge. AKA a very good Sunday, indeed. (And for parents, yes, the Gingerbread Man’s 15 minutes are technically over, but he’s getting one last mini-hurrah at Terhune the following Tuesday at 10 am, with an hour-long story time and a cookie to decorate for each child you register). Terhune Orchards, 330 Cold Soil Road, Princeton; 609-924-2310

Healthy Winter Comfort Foods Cooking Demo at The Iron Room Restaurant
Monday, January 14, 6–8 pm

Anyone who thinks Atlantic City is a place to practice some of your worst habits should check out this cooking class and demonstration. From 6 to 8pm, Conscious Cooks founders Kayla and Michele will teach you how to answer that age-old early January conundrum: How do you stick to New Year’s resolutions and still indulge in the kind of warm comfort foods your body craves in a Jersey winter? You’ll spend Monday night’s class preparing an entirely plant-based dinner (they recommend you bring your appetite), with optional bottles of wine to pair and buy (if you’re not quite sticking to all your resolutions just yet). Tickets are $45. The Iron Room Restaurant, 648 North Albany Avenue, Atlantic City; 609-348-6400
