Smorgasbar Beer Garden Now Open in Jersey City

Smorgasbar Beer Garden • Jersey City

Formerly Luther Biergarten, Smorgasbar officially opened this week on the Jersey City waterfront. The opening follows the launch of New Jersey’s first Smorgasburg location. Smorgasbar teamed up with Carlitos to reopen the 300-seat outdoor venue. There are dozens of beers on tap, as well as frozen drinks and cocktails. Food options include Carlitos’ barbecue tacos and San Giuseppe Pizza. Oyster Party’s raw bar and lobster rolls are available on weekends. Open Monday to Thursday, 3–10 pm; Friday, 3 pm–12 am; Saturday, 12 pm–12 am; and Sunday, 12–11pm.

Jersey Girl Kitchen & Bar • Wildwood

After a year-long remodel, this Wildwood restaurant has unveiled its refreshed appearance, with a new menu to boot. The restaurant’s exterior now includes an outdoor dining space with a covered patio. The menu, executed by brothers George and Argie Mallous, features what they call “a blend of Jersey Shore and Greek classics.” Serving breakfast Friday to Monday and dinner seven days a week, dishes include Mango Tu Tu Tango French Toast, Watermelon & Feta salad, Broken Crab Fries and more.

Fitrition • Westwood

Already in Queens and Long Island, Fitrition has opened its first New Jersey location. This juice bar serves smoothies, juices, pitaya and açaí bowls, toasts and more. Customers can also purchase prepared meals in the form of meal prep, including dishes like General Tso’s Chicken, Vanilla Protein Waffles, and Sweet and Spicy Noodles.

El Tuque Restaurant • Vineland

Chef Carlos Paton and his family are bringing Puerto Rican flavors to South Jersey with their new restaurant. Everything is prepared daily, including savory dishes such as Tostones, Mofongo and Stuffed Peppers, as well as desserts like Flan, Arroz con Dulce, aka rice pudding, and more. Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 11 am–7 pm; Friday and Saturday, 11 am–9 pm. Closed Mondays.
