Smorgasburg Food Festival Coming to Jersey City

Plus: Upcoming restaurant events in Madison, Atlantic City and Ramsey.

New York City’s famous food festival—launched on the Williamsburg, Brooklyn, waterfront in 2011—crosses the Hudson this year. Starting May 29, Jersey City’s Smorgasburg will occupy the newly renovated Harborside complex. The festival will take place every Saturday from 11 am–6 pm through October, with 30 vendors representing NJ and NYC eateries. Seating for up to 500 people will be available.

Wine & Dine Summer Kick-Off Dinner at Central + Main

Madison • May 19

Chef Leia Gaccione is teaming up with Gary’s Wine & Marketplace for a special wine-paired menu to celebrate the coming of summer. The four-course menu consists of Apricot Salad with roasted fennel and toasted almonds, Swordfish with orange butter and fresh garbanzos, and Tuna with red lentil hummus. The night concludes with a tahini caramel–topped Chocolate Sesame Cake. For reservations, call Gary’s Wine at 973-822-0200.

Live Entertainment at Bourré

Atlantic City • May 22

This Cajun-style pub has a month of events in store, including a night of reggae on Bourré Beach with a performance by Brother Jerome. Sip on cocktails, such as the Frozen Hurricane, made with rum, passion fruit purée and lime juice, and The 48, with vodka, ginger beer, muddled lemon and cucumber. You can also savor New Orleans–inspired dishes, such as the Dixie Chicken sandwich, Jambalaya, Fried Pickle Chips and barbecue Beef Brisket. Doors open 6 pm; show from 7–10 pm. Few and a Brew Dinner at Brothers Smokehouse

Ramsey • May 25

Brothers Smokehouse and Little Ferry’s Brix City Brewing have come together for a special four-course dinner. A welcome flight of bourbon, Aperol, amaro and fresh lemon will liven up your palate. Each dish will be paired with either a brew from Brix City or a libation from Chicago-area distillery Few Spirits. The menu features a Tri-Colore Beet Salad, Smoked Duck Breast with roasted mushrooms, celery root purée and grilled peach, Smoked Wild Boar Ragu and, for dessert, French Toast Crunch Brûlée. Starts at 7 pm. $75 per person; tickets available online.
