Table Hopping: Escape, Terre à Terre Chefs Cook for Charity

Chef Bryan Gregg, owner of Escape in Montclair, has announced chef Todd Villani of Terre à Terre in Carlstadt will partner with him for a charity dinner to benefit the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center of NJ on Wednesday, March 25.

The following menu will be presented:

Amuse: Scallop, grapefruit, poppy seed, and avocado—chef Villani

“Mire Poix” celery-root soup, green onion, pickled carrot—chef Villani

Sot L’y Laisse “chicken oyster” hot coals, sprouted rye, early spring peas—chef Gregg

Monkfish, foraged mushrooms, turnip, haricots verts, and mussel cream—chef Villani

Dry-aged beef, forest flavors, huitlacoche—chef Gregg

Dessert: Brioche, chocolate, hazelnut, orange—chef Gregg

SCOTCH DINNER AT PLEASANTDALE CHATEAU

Over 150 different breweries from around the country will be at the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival, which will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center, 1 Miss America Way, Atlantic City. For information and tickets, visit the event website.

FRIDAY, MARCH 20 TO SUNDAY, MARCH 22
The New Jersey Wine & Food Festival will take place March 20 to 22 at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg with guest of honor David Kinch of the Michelin 2-starred Manresa in Los Gatos, California. Kinch is a James Beard Award-winning chef and recently published his first cookbook, Manresa: An Edible Reflection. On Friday night, March 20, chef Kinch will take part in a dinner at Restaurant Latour paired with winemaker Jen Beloz of The Prisoner Wine Company, and on Saturday March 21 he will host a book signing and be featured in the VIP section of The Grand Tasting. The Festival’s featured wine producer is Larry Stone, estates director of Quintessa and Huneeus Vintners. Other events include educational seminars, a marketplace lunch, a Grand Brunch and Chefs & Winemaker After Party. Proceeds from the Festival will benefit the James Beard Foundation. CELEBRITY FOOD & WINE SHOW
A Celebrity Food & Wine Show sponsored by the Giants of Generosity and BMW of Tenafly will be held at the Clinton Inn, 145 Dean Drive, Tenafly, to benefit the Office of Concern Food Bank in Englewood. This event will include a cooking demonstration by executive chef Maneet Chauhan from the television show Chopped, food and wine samplings from area restaurants and a culinary competition. 1 to 4 PM; $65. CHEF’S COUNTER TASTING @ ANTHONY DAVID’S, HOBOKEN
