Table to Table Honors Chefs Romano and Symon

Alpine Country Club and The Preakness Hills Country Club host events to support a community-based rescue program.

Chef Michael Romano, director of culinary development for Union Square Hospitality Group will be honored at the Chefs Gala that at the Alpine Country Club, 80 Anderson Avenue, Demarest, on May 7 to benefit Table to Table. A community-based food rescue program, Table to Table collects prepared and perishable food that would otherwise be wasted and delivers it to organizations serving the hungry in the Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties. Participating chefs who will salute chef Romano by preparing a signature dish from Union Square Café include: Peter Kelly of Xaviars Restaurant Group; John Piliouras of Orama and Ben Pollinger of Oceana. 6:30 PM; $450. Another event to benefit Table to Table will be held on May 18, with award-winning chef, restaurateur and co-host of ABC’s The Chew, Michael Symon. He will be honored at a BBQ & B’Yond at the Preakness Hills Country Club, 1050 Ratzer Road, Wayne. Participating restaurants include: Village Green, River Palm Terrace, Café Amici and Picnic on the Square.  6:30 PM; $195. Tickets are available at their website.
