Taste of the Sea Dinner at Restaurant Nicholas

One of NJM's Top 25 Restaurants will host a seafood dinner on Thursday, August 20.

On August 20, a “Taste of the Sea” dinner will be held at Restaurant Nicholas, 160 Route 35 S, Middletown. The following menu will be presented:

Hudson Canyon Big Eye Tuna Crudo, Chimicurri, Tomato Powder, Cucumber Salsa, Toasted Jersey Corn
(2014, Luberon, Grenache Blanc, Les Chatagnier, Domaine de la Citadelle)

Seared Barnegat Light Scallops, Grilled Long Sweet Peppers, Grilled Shallots,  Wild Arugula, 50 year Aged Sherry Vinaigrette
(2011 Carneros, Chardonnay, Etude)

Jersey Crab Boil, Blue Crabs, Clams, Calamari, Fluke, Old Bay Consomme
(2014 Coteaux d’ Aix en Provence, Rose, Chateau Revelette)

Seared Local Black Bass, Smoked Potato Purée, Wild Mushroom, Baby Leeks, Preserved Lemon Brown Butter

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22
SOUTHERN ITALIAN FARM-TO-TABLE DINNER
Mangia bene at a farm-to-table, Southern Italian dinner, that will be held at Brick Farm Market, 65 East Broad Street, Hopewell. Chef Chase Gerstenbacher will make a ‘gravy’ using tomatoes, herbs and garlic grown in Hopewell. Other menu items will include house-made pasta, rustic breads drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil, grilled vegetables, fresh hand-crafted mozzarella, sausages made by the Brick Farm Market butcher and cuts of meat from the farm. 7 to 10 PM; $75 plus tax; BYO. BEAULIEU VINEYARDS WINE DINNER
A six-course Beaulieu vineyards wine dinner will be held at Le Malt, 1021 St. Georges Avenue, Colonia. 6:45 PM; $55 includes tax and gratuity. Reservations: 732-510-7593.

FRIDAY AUGUST 28
LATIN NIGHT AT RAT’S, HAMILTON
Hand-crafted tequila cocktails, sangria, ceviche, roasted pork, garlic shrimp and much more will be available at Latin Night at Rat’s Restaurant, 16 Fairgrounds Road, Hamilton. Seatings at 6 and 8:15 PM; $54. For reservations, call 609-584-7800.

CAL-ITAL SUMMER WINEFEST
A two day Cal-Ital Summer wine fest will be held at the Golden Nugget Casino, Hotel & Marina, 1 Castle Boulevard, Atlantic City. Friday, August 28 will feature a Wine & Jazz reception under the stars with food and more than 25 Italian and California wines; 8 to 10 PM; $49.
