Upcoming Seasonal Tastes

Pizza, wine, and tequila dinners in Lambertville, Bloomfield and Ocean Township.

It’ll be an all-Lambertville evening Tuesday, June 12, when a chef already plying his craft in the small city on the Delaware River travels just a handful of blocks south to Liberty Hall Pizza to play guest pizzaiolo.

Alex Cormier, now at the new Broadmoor Restaurant, will fire in the Liberty Hall wood-burning oven two pizzas of his own design from 5 to 9 PM.

Cormier’s pies will reflect his flavors and style at Broadmoor, which showcases his personal takes on cuisines of Mediterranean countries: 1) Grilled Octopus with Oven Roasted Cherry Tomatoes, Olives and Saffron Verjus, and 2) Fresh Ricotta with Pistachio, Roasted Garlic and Lemon.

Cormier has worked in restaurants in New York, Honolulu and Lambertville, and while in his native Philadelphia, done turns at the stoves of La Truffle, Ciboulette and the Four Seasons. He also was chef-owner of Alex on South in Philadelphia.

Liberty Hall’s proprietors, chef Chris Bryan and Danny Popkin, invited Cormier to spend an evening as guest pizzaiolo soon after learning he was re-fitting the former Broadmoor Antiques space into a restaurant. It opened in January.

Liberty Hall’s regular menu items also will be available on June 12.

Liberty Hall is located inside the Canal House Studios Complex at 243 North Union Street in Lambertville. Call or visit the Web site for reservations: 609-397-8400; www.LibertyHallPizza.com.
