We’ll Drink To That

French wine is a great reason to celebrate Bastille Day this week in Long Branch; plus other events.

Think there aren’t any summer holidays worth celebrating with food and drink now that Fourth of July is in the rear-view mirror and Labor Day is weeks away?

Guess again. How about a Bastille Day Bash?

Bastille Day is this Friday, July 14, and a popular Shore venue is toasting it in style with a free sampling of French wines.

Organic wines from France will be in the spotlight at Court Liquors, as the mecca for artisan wines, spirits and beers celebrates Bastille Day, a landmark in the French Revolution.

Court Liquors will offer a complimentary sampling of French wines from premier importers that include Kermit Lynch, Neal Rosenthal and Louis Dressner on Friday, from 4 to 6 pm at the store (146 West End Court, Long Branch).

Led by Court’s vice president Nick Pizzonia, a finalist for Wine Professional in the 2017 Garden State Culinary Arts Awards, the tasting of small-production artisan organic French wines will be accompanied by small bites of food.

Court’s collection of fine artisan wines, beers and spirits has been curated by Pizzonia during the course of his 20-year career at the recently renovated shop located near the Atlantic Ocean in the enclave of West End.

The French wine sampling is free and open to all age 21 and older with valid I.D. Information: 732-870-9859.
