Wurst is Best at Wurstbar in Jersey City

WANT WURST?
Wurstbar, offering fine sausages (beef, rabbit, duck, lamb, venison, kielbasa and many more) and fermented liquids, has opened at 516 Jersey Avenue, Jersey City (201-248-6304). Along with sausages, poutine, hand-cut fries with cheese curds and ale gravy are on the menu. The drink list is updated daily and contains about 14 beers on tap, as well as 18 different bottled beers, 3 beers in cans, 12 ciders and 4 draft wines. Open daily from 4 PM.

BLUFF CITY COMING TO MONTCLAIR
Bluff City BBQ will be opening at 21 Midland Avenue, Montclair (973-886-2338) this fall, featuring Memphis-style BBQ and much more. Executive chef is Patrick Pierre-Jerome (Yves, Albert’s, Hat City Kitchen). This style of cooking is traditionally pork-focused, dry-rubbed, smoked low and slow and served with a sweet/sour tomato- and vinegar-based sauce on the side. The menu will also feature a selection of Southern fish, shellfish and soul-food dishes, along with healthy, updated options on traditional side dishes and Southern-themed desserts. Vegetarians can opt for plant-based, soul-inflected dishes.

Bluff City BBQ owner/culinary director Scott Hermo, a former Wall Street bond broker/trader has a passion for food and cooking that led him to attend the International Culinary Center in NYC and complete its Culinary Entrepreneurship Program.

The 90-seat BYO restaurant will serve lunch and dinner daily with weekend brunch in the future.

THE SHEPHERD & THE KNUCKLEHEAD, HOBOKEN
The Shepherd & The Knucklehead, 1313 Willow Avenue, Hoboken (201-714-4222), has opened offering 60 micro brew taps, wine, liquor, growler fills, pub fare, featuring grilled Angus Steaks butchered onsite, wings, giant German pretzels, Polish kielbasa, vegetable wraps, burgers, bisque, chili, mussels, grilled shrimp, and fresh fish creations.

Habit Burger, a chain restaurant, has opened at 3 Teterboro Landing Drive, Teterboro.

Crepes and hamburgers are featured at the newly opened Mountie’s Eatery, 254 Bellevue Avenue, Upper Montclair (484-542-2124).

One Nation Grille, a casual fast food restaurant known for its roast beef sandwiches, has opened at 501 Rt 17 S, Paramus (201-258-5590).
