Hawk Winery Dinner, Rhythm & Spirits • Atlantic City

December 2, 6:30 pm

Italian restaurant Rhythm & Spirits is hosting a wine dinner with the New Jersey Wine Growers Association. Wines with each dish are being supplied by Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery in Rio Grande. The four-course menu includes grilled oysters, vegetable lasagna, pork with crispy polenta fries, and chocolate and desserts from Bar 32.

French Wine Dinner, Meadowlands Racetrack • East Rutherford

December 3, 6 pm

It’ll be Viva La France at this special dinner at Pink, the racetrack’s tiered dining room. The six-course dinner includes leek and potato soup, caramelized Brussels sprouts, flounder in brown butter-lemon sauce, roasted beef, and more. Each dish is served with French wine. Racing begins at 6:20 pm. Tickets are $79.95 per person; reservations can be made via phone.

This artisanal ice cream maker is celebrating the holidays before closing for the season. Limited-time flavors include Christmas tree (infused with real Douglas fir tips!), rum nougat, sticky figgy pudding, gingerbread and candy cane, plus blood orange sorbet. All flavors can also be purchased by the pint.

Wine Dinner Series, Faubourg • Montclair

December 7 & 14

Sommelier Philippe Marchal and chef Olivier Muller are preparing special wine dinners. On December 7, a $295 per person dinner features wines from the Champagne region of France, as well as sunchokes, lobster ravioli, cauliflower mousseline, and grapefruit sorbet. Wines from what Faubourg calls a “new generation” of Barolo and Burgundy makers are being served on December 14. That event is $345 per person and includes scallops with black truffle, risotto with porcini, veal tenderloin, and truffle cheesecake. Email Marchal at [email protected] if interested.

Candy Cane Challenge, Downtown Cookies & Patricia of Mullica Hill • Haddonfield & Mullica Hill

December 14-18

For a short time this month, Haddonfield residents and visitors can visit two local businesses for a chance to win prizes. Head into Downtown Cookies & Patricia of Mullica Hill to guess how many candy canes are in a glass jar. The winners, the two people who guess closest to the correct number, are to be announced on December 21. All prizes come from local businesses, including a dinner for two at the Little Hen, a growler of beer from King’s Road Brewing, gift certificates and more.

Santa Sunday Brunch, Drifthouse by David Burke • Sea Bright

Santa is stopping by for photo opps. Drifthouse offers a limitless buffet brunch that includes a raw bar, omelet station, waffle station, fruit platters, breakfast meats, carving stations, pasta and more. Rhone Valley Truffle Dinner, Brasserie Mémére • Closter

Brasserie Mémére is highlighting truffles and wine this month. This dinner serves four courses, each custom paired with a well-suited wine. The menu includes wagyu beef tartare, pasta, veal tenderloin, cheese and more. The dinner is $225 per person.

The Feast of the Seven Fishes, Nunzio by Michael DeLone • Collingswood

December 21-24

Nunzio’s celebrates this Italian tradition with cod fritters, fried smelts with lemon aioli, spaghetti with clams and four more seafood-centric specialties. For those who do not prefer fish, chef Michael DeLone is preparing a second menu with arancini, burrata, truffle gnocchi and short rib over polenta. The dinner is $75 per person.

Christmas Eve Dinner, Halifax • Hoboken

December 24, 5-10 pm

Enjoy a three-course feast prepared by chef Seadon Shouse and pastry chef Joshua Coleman. The menu includes duck liver pâté, squash risotto balls, surf & turf, squid ink spaghetti, peppermint mocha torte, a gingersnap cookie sandwich and more. $55-$99 a person, depending on entrée.

Candy Bar Contest, Bar 32 • Atlantic City

December 25

Didn’t get Taylor Swift tickets? Bar 32 is giving Swifties a chance to win two tickets to the star’s May 13 concert in Philadelphia. Each of Bar 32’s Holiday Bars—a limited-release milk chocolate bar with crushed candy cane—includes a number. The winning number will be selected on Christmas Day on Instagram Live. The winner receives Swift tickets if their chocolate bar matches the number pulled. Holiday Bars can be purchased in-store or online for $10 each. Only 3,000 bars are being made.

The Eden Lounge turns into a winter wonderland this time of year. The new Tipsy Elf Lounge features holiday decorations, and guests can sign their name on old-school Christmas lights hung on the bar for $5. The menu includes Christmas cocktails like the Partridge in a Pear Tree martini, and a 12 Bites of Christmas challenge gives guests a chance to win prizes. All proceeds from the pop-up experience benefit the Foodbank of New Jersey.

In the Tropicana Resort, Wild Honey Smokehouse celebrates all month long. The “Santa’s Gingerbread” pop-up includes holiday-themed décor, special menu items, and holiday cocktails, including the Kiss Me Mistletoe cooler (cherry rum with cherries and mistletoe), Hibiscus Christmas (tequila, hibiscus, orange liqueur, lime and rosemary) and Snow Bear (vanilla vodka, white chocolate liqueur, cream, and a candy cane). Menu items include a cinnamon sugar donut sundae, honey-roasted prime rib, meatloaf and more.
