Thanks Captain Clutch

A New Jersey farm has come up with what might be the ultimate tribute to Derek Jeter on his final season: a five acre corn maze designed with the face of the Yankee captain himself.

The corn maze at VonThun Farms in Monmouth Junction, made to resemble retiring Yankee Derek Jeter.

VonThun’s Country Farm Market & Greenhouses of Monmouth Junction has been owned and operated by the VonThun family since 1913, with five generations connecting the old-fashioned family fun and fresh produce to the present day.

Each fall, the farm constructs a corn maze as part of their family-friendly activities for the fall season and this year, they have revealed their masterpiece. The corn maze, through a series of twist and turns, outlines the face of Jeter, along with a No. 2 baseball and the words "Thanks Captain Clutch," which, can only be viewed in full from above.

According to the VonThun website, the business has quite a few Jeter fans who are employed and because the Yankee player grew up less than an hour away from the farm, in Pequannock, the tribute seemed perfect.

The legendary shortstop will play in his final scheduled home game at Yankee Stadium on September 25.

Since he announced his retirement back in February, fans across the country have paid tribute to Captain Clutch as he’s made his farewell tour. So far, Jeter has received a Les Paul guitar in Cleveland, a gold bat in Milwaukee and a subway tile mosaic in New York.

But of course, New Jersey had to do something extra special, as Jeter is a native of the Garden State after all.

Those interested in traversing the maze this fall will be able to do so beginning on September 20 up through Halloween.

Along with the corn maze, VonThun Farms features apple and pumpkin picking, and over 20 weekend attractions for the whole family, including such favorites as hayrides, inflatable bounces, farm animals and more.
