Almost Home: Helping Kids Move from Homelessness to Hope (Wiley) by Tina Kelley and Kevin Ryan

Maplewood resident Tina Kelley, a former New York Times reporter, wrote this study with Kevin Ryan, president of Covenant House, the largest charity serving homeless and runaway youth in North America. The book tells the stories of six young people—including one from Newark—struggling to stay off the streets. Often heartbreaking and certainly inspirational, the book includes a foreword by Newark Mayor Cory Booker.
