An Artist in Full Bloom

Every morning, artist Timothy Martin draws inspiration simply by walking down his driveway in picturesque Sergeantsville.

“I incorporate a lot of what I see into my works,” Martin says. “Hunterdon County is ripe for what I do. It’s packed with forest and still rural farmland and animals.” This month Martin, 57, will be the featured artist at the 177th Philadelphia Flower Show (theflowershow.com), the country’s oldest event of its kind. Starting on the 5th, the weeklong show featuring 33 acres of indoor flower displays is expected to outdraw last year’s attendance of 250,000.

About 35 of Martin’s paintings will be displayed in the Garden Gallery, reflecting the show’s theme, “Enchanted Spring: A Tribute to Mother Nature.” “I’m honored that they considered me,” he says. “It’s great exposure.”
