Difference Makers

Imagination and determination characterize our 2011 Seeds of Hope honorees.

New Jerseyans are quick to roll up their sleeves and plant seeds of hope and kindness wherever needed. To honor that virtuous drive, New Jersey Monthly created the Garden State Seeds of Hope Awards eight years ago to recognize the achievements of some of our state’s most effective and dedicated volunteers.

We choose the honorees with the help of a distinguished panel of judges, which this year consisted of Christopher J. Daggett, president and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, Morristown; Warren Leeds, president of Ome Caterers, Whippany; Mary Kay Strangfeld, chair of NJPAC Arts Education Committee and trustee of NJPAC Women’s Association, Newark; Josh Weston, former CEO of ADP, Roseland; and Erica Ferry, president of Erica Ferry and Associates, Dayton. The judges selected five winners from a pool of 44 impressive nominees. We will honor the winners at a luncheon September 14 in Livingston at the Crystal Plaza, a cosponsor of the awards along with PNC Wealth Management.
