Education: Associate degree in culinary arts; certificate of culinary management and hospitality.

Resume:
19 years in the workforce; five months in current position.

Why Hospitality?: I love food. In culinary school, I was chosen to go to Amsterdam for three months for an internship. When we went to the markets for the first time and saw the different fruits and all of the colors, I cried. I get excited. Who doesn’t love food? It’s such an expression. It’s like an art form.

What’s best about your work?:
I love to talk to guests, to serve guests. I find great joy in being able to give somebody something, create something with my own hands, my mind and see the satisfaction.

What is your long-term goal?:
My ambition is to open up my own restaurant in downtown Jersey City where I was born and raised.
