An Online Eye on Cumberland County Culture

The arts scene is alive and well in Cumberland County. If you doubt that, check out the new undertaking by some folks at Cumberland County College.

I present to you the Cumberland County Arts Directory, an interactive online catalogue and exhibit space that features local painters, musicians, dancers, writers and other talented individuals. The directory allows artists in the county to post examples of their work, along with short bios and contact information.

The Cumberland County Cultural and Heritage Commission is spearheading the project with help from the Board of Chosen Freeholders. “This county is filled with artistic talent,” says commission coordinator Matthew E. Pisarki in a recent press release. “We see it in our local galleries, in our live theaters and performance spaces. Now our artists will be able to connect with people in and outside of the county.”

Amen brother.

The directory is open to all self-identified artists who reside in Cumberland County. All they have to do is fill out the online form and upload up to five digital images. Then they can sit back and share their work with the world.
