The Conqueror’s Lady by Terri Brisbin (Harlequin, out now). In this first part of a trilogy, Giles Fitzhenry faces a challenge. This soldier in the time of William the Conqueror has been promised a fief, but on one condition: that he marry Fayth of Taerwood, the heiress left behind after the Battle of Hastings. Marry her he does, but earning her trust and love is a different matter.

So Happy Together by Maryann McFadden (Hyperion, July 7). Claire Noble, a high school teacher, has always put other people first. But when a pregnant daughter, family secret, and an unexpected affair stand in the way of her and the altar, will she finally find the dream life she always thought she wanted?

A Duke of Her Own by Eloisa James (Avon, July 28). Eleanor Lindel loved once—but when her childhood flame married someone else, she decided love wasn’t for her. Into this historical romance strides the Duke of Villiers who needs a wife to take care of his six illegitimate children. Lindel doesn’t seem like his first choice, but will she be his last?
