This Symphony is Something to See

A few posts back I wrote about some of my favorite small live music venues in South Jersey. This time around I’d like to put on my highbrow hat and bring your attention to a different kind of music, and one of my favorite South Jersey organizations: Symphony In C.

Formerly The Haddonfield Symphony, Symphony in C is one of only three professional training orchestras in the United States. Through concerts, educational outreach, and professional development programs, Symphony in C prepares some of the world’s most impressive up-and-coming classical musicians and conductors for careers in the classical concert arts—and we here in South Jersey get to reap the benefits of their talent.

Make no mistake; even though this is a so-called training ground for classical musicians, Symphony in C’s seasonal performances, which take place inside the gorgeous Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts, are nothing short of professional and breathtaking. For those who love going to see classical music but don’t feel like shelling out the hundreds of dollars it sometimes takes to go to New York or Philadelphia, Symphony in C is fantastic alternative.

Visit their Web site for information on concert schedules, tickets, and more.
