8 Seafood Festivals Swimming Ashore This Fall

Fill up on fish and fun!

Grab a bib! There will be plenty of crab cracking, oyster shucking and soup slurping at these seafood celebrations.

Asbury Park Oysterfest

Sept 8-10: Indulge in finger licking good grub at this three-day event that combines fresh fish, live music and craft vendors at Bradley Park.
Fri, 5-10 PM; Sat, 11 AM-10 PM; Sun, 11 AM-6 PM; $3.

Atlantic City Seafood Festival

Sept 9-10: Cooking demos, tastings from local chefs, wine seminars, a crab-cake-eating competition and a chowder cook off serve up under-the-sea fun at this pet-friendly festival on the Boardwalk.
$10 admission, $4-$11 entrees.

Festival of the Sea

Sept 16: Since 1975, this end of summer gathering has been a tradition in Pt. Pleasant Beach. Restaurants and vendors prepare crab cakes, shrimp skewers, paella and bisques. Look forward to hundreds of craft vendors and live music.
Downtown on both Arnold and Bay Avenues.

Crabs & All That Jazz

Sept 16: Crab along the Delaware Bay during the crabbing tournament, participate in the Crab-venger hunt and chow down at the crab dinner. Other activities include crab races, a Chinese auction, historic tours, nature walks and live music.

Red Bank Guinness Oyster Festival

Sept 24: Inspired by the Galway Oyster Festival in Ireland, this celebration offers cold brews, lobster rolls, mini Reubens, live music, vendors and children’s activities.

Chowderfest Weekend

Sept 30-Oct 1: Bargain hunt at the Merchant Mart on Saturday. Restaurants compete for best New England, Manhattan and seafood chowders on Sunday during the Cook Off Classic.

Avalon Seafood Festival

Oct 7-8: Taste delectable treats from the sea at this annual event featuring a chowder contest, vendors and live music.

New Jersey Celtic Faire & Seafood Fest 

Oct 14: Show off your kilt in Middlesex County. Enjoy Irish step dance and bagpipe performances, Celtic and seafood fare, and craft vendors.
