An award-winning National Geographic photographer, several top reporters, and President Bill Clinton are just some of the captivating speakers coming to the Garden State during the New Jersey Speakers Series. Presented at NJPAC by Fairleigh Dickinson University, the 2017-2018 series kicks off October 12 with former British Prime Minister David Cameron.
Tickets are sold as a bundle to subscribers and range from $275-$475. Subscribers are guaranteed admission to all seven discussions. All presentations begin at 8 pm and each is followed by a Q&A session.
Here is the speaker schedule:
October 12: David Cameron, the youngest British Prime Minister in two centuries, led the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2016. He resigned following the U.K. vote to leave the European Union.
November 2: Author Jeffrey Tobin has written two books that chronicled the inner workings of the Supreme Court. His 2015 book The Run of His Life: The People v. O. J. Simpson was adapted as the 2016 Emmy-winning television series, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
November 30: Journalist and author Cokie Roberts is a senior news analyst for NPR. She is also a regular roundtable analyst on This Week with George Stephanopoulos and serves as a political commentator for ABC News.
February 1, 2018: Robin Wright has reported from more than 140 countries and is currently a joint fellow at the U.S. Institute of Peace and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. The Overseas Press Club named her book, Rock the Casbah: Rage and Rebellion Across the Islamic World, the best on international affairs in 2012.
February 22, 2018: Travel advocate Rick Steves is the author of numerous European travel guides. He is also the host of the public television series Rick Steves’ Europe and the public radio show Travel with Rick Steves.
March 22, 2018: Through his work, Paul Nicklen, an award-winning National Geographic photographer, has revealed the nature of the changing polar regions due to climate change.
April 12, 2018: Bill Clinton, the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001, concludes the series. He is also the founder of the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, which works to improve global health.
