Order up! The Broad Street Diner in Keyport is the winner of New Jersey Monthly’s 2018 Diner Derby.

Broad Street Diner received a swell of support though social media early in the competition, and maintained the lead over 24 other diners in the competition. Broad Street Diner is a local beacon for staples like turkey breast with cornbread stuffing, matzah ball soup, linguine with red clam sauce and house-made rice pudding.

Manager Kyle McNair was thrilled by the win, and says the diner’s success could be attributed to its great food and friendly staff.

“Everyone here is like one big family,” he says. “We try to make customers feel like they’re part of that family. It’s like Cheers–sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.”

If you plan on visiting, McNair recommends the Texas BBQ brisket sandwich.

“I’m recently vegetarian, but when I wasn’t, I loved that,” he says. “It’s so flavorful.”

Congratulations to Broad Street Diner!
