Asbury Park Triumphs in Shore Nightlife Showdown

The Monmouth County town beat out Atlantic City in a landslide.

After four nail-biting rounds, Asbury Park took home the gold in our 2019 Shore Nightlife Showdown.

Asbury Park has emerged as a city on the rebound in recent years, with a restaurant scene that is one of the most dynamic in the state. Last year, our readers named Asbury Park the top dining destination down the Jersey Shore. And now Asbury Park can add the Best Shore Nightlife title to its long list of accolades.

There are several factors that catapulted Asbury Park to the top. Beyond eating, there’s plenty to do and see in the seaside city—from murals and art galleries featuring work by Asbury Park’s spirited art community, to the historical music scene it’s best known for (with lively venues like the Stone Pony, Wonder Bar, House of Independents and Asbury Lanes), to the boardwalk that bolsters its colorful nightlife.
