Spend a Bewitching Small Business Saturday at Diagon Alley in Newton

Stores on Spring Street in Newton will undergo a magical transformation on Saturday, November 25 during this Harry Potter-themed shopping event.

Grab your wand, hop on your broom and head to Diagon Alley during Newton’s Harry Potter-themed shopping event. On November 25, Spring Street transforms into the wizarding world. Take Quidditch lessons, participate in the cosplay contest, go on a horcrux hunt and make potions.

First, stop by the sorting hat to find out what house you belong in and get a badge (you’ll need these to get special discounts).

Following Newton’s annual holiday parade, start your seasonal shopping in a Hogwarts wonderland.

Feels Like Home, an antique shop, becomes Platform 9 3/4, the magical platform where wizarding students can catch the Hogwarts Express.

Maxwell and Molly’s Closet, which sells pet products, gets a makeover as Maxwell and Molly’s Magical Menagerie.

-Dine beneath floating candles at Between the Bread.

ReCollectables, a retail store selling new and vintage clothes, gifts and novelty items, transforms into Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, with special discounts for each house.

The Barrel House converts to the Leaky Cauldron and will serve Hogwarts-inspired food and drinks, such as butterbeer.

– The First United Methodist Church becomes Hogwarts School Choir of Singing Frogs. They’ll have performances until 5 pm.
