Giving Back: Gym Members Help Raise $3,400 For Veterans

Plus: Pink Tie Guys help raise funds to end breast cancer, the music in film fest brings in the dough for a good cause, and more.

1. Music Rings In The Funds

The Asbury Park Music in Film Festival VIP reception raised over $350,000 to support the Asbury Park Music Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving, exhibiting and promoting the city’s rich musical heritage. Celebrating were, from left, Vince Willburn, Miles Davis Properties; Tom Donovan, Asbury Park Press; Don Cheadle, actor and director; Danny Clinch, filmmaker; and Tom Bernard, Sony Pictures Classics.

2. Pink Tie Guys Honored

Susan G. Komen North Jersey honored its inaugural class of Pink Tie Guys at the Pink Tie Affair, which raised nearly $295,000 to help end breast cancer. Wearing pink in support were, from left, Joe Sheridan of Wakefern Food Corp; Ashley and Robert Schultz of Shultz Furrier; and Kenneth Wenger of PNC Investments.

3. Workouts For A Noble Cause

Members of the Gym of Englewood and Montvale partnered with Homes for Veterans to raise $3,400 to help disabled veterans. Celebrating together were, from left,  Juan Pla, James Siletti, and Lisa Bruchalski of the Gym; Doug DiPaola of Homes for Veterans; and Pete Kandel and Derek McGuire of the Gym.

Maria Cartagena, left, and Linda Martin, right, of Investors Bank present a $1,500 check to Karen Courtney and Pamela Cipriano of the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey. The nonprofit supports the Trenton Education Dance Institute, which reaches 200 Trenton Public School District students each year.

6. Museum Expands The Scientific Mind

Morris Museum’s board of trustees celebrated the opening of the BASF Kids’ Lab.
