1. Truck-Pulling Competition Drives in Funds
Eighteen team members from AVE Flexible-stay Accommodations—with three locations in New Jersey— competed in Move For Hunger’s 2nd Annual Jersey Shore Truck Pull. Teams pulled a 26-foot truck, tug-of-war style, in three heats to raise funds for the nonprofit, which focuses on ending hunger in New Jersey. The team also helped collect 1,000 pounds in food donations.
2. Volunteers Of The Year, Recognized
Morristown Neighborhood House Volunteers of the Year Award recipients Suzy and Ken Press enjoy the 2015 Neighbors Helping Neighbors gala. The event raised $135,000 to support after-school programs at the nonprofit.
3. Pumpkin Chucking Bursts The Bank
Marli Grossman, left, happily accepts a $3,200 check for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital from Dimitrios Meleounis, center, of the Shannon Rose Irish Pub, and Dan Downing of Kohler Distributing Company, who partnered to raise the funds during the second annual Punkin Chunkin competition.
4. Women In Wildlife Honored For Nature Work
Russell J. Furnari, left, board trustee of the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey, congratulates Tanya Oznowich, the 2015 Women & Wildlife Education Award winner. Oznowich’s work in wildlife education was recognized by the nonprofit at its 10th Annual Women & Wildlife Awards reception.
5. Honoree Gets A First-Hand Look
Dr. Frank Manginello, left, of the Valley Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, shows off the facility to Mitchell E. Rudin, chief executive officer of the Mack-Cali Realty Corporation. Rudin was named the official honoree for the 2016 Real Estate Award Reception and Pynes Putting Challenge to benefit March of Dimes.
