Style: Small, homey Italian-American café. Eat at table, booth, counter or, in warm weather, outdoors. The menu features family recipes. All items are made from scratch, with many ingredients locally sourced.

The Scoop: Giovanna Germinario, daughter of a restaurateur, opened the café in 2014 with help from her husband and children.

The Menu: Breakfast items include brioche French toast dipped in custard, dusted with powdered sugar and served with fresh fruit (pictured). The Viva L’Italia omelet is made with mozzarella and prosciutto, chopped red onions and grape tomatoes. The lunch menu ranges from chicken noodle soup with hand-shredded chicken, to fresh vegetables and ditalini pasta in a housemade broth. Vegetarian options include a grilled vegetable sandwich with eggplant, zucchini, red peppers, caramelized red onions, goat cheese and balsamic dressing. Gluten-free items available daily include brownies, muffins, crumb cake, artisan breads and zucchini parmigiano.
