Style: This casual beach café (open all year) lives up to its name with a friendly surfer vibe, thanks to its owners, longtime local residents Carrie and Mike Godesky.

Don’t Miss: Breakfast is served all day. Popular omelets—three-egg ($9.99), four-egg ($10.99)—include the Jersey Shore, with pork roll and cheddar cheese, the Boardwalk, with sausage, peppers, onions, tomatoes and provolone. The Hungry Gardener ($9.99) wraps scrambled eggs and mixed vegetables in a warm tortilla. The Beach Breakfast Burrito ($10.99) mates scrambled eggs with black beans, cheddar cheese, salsa and guacamole. French toast ($6.99) and Belgian waffles ($6.99) are worthy alternatives. For lunch choose from salads, wraps, burgers and sandwiches. Try the Spinach Supreme salad—topped with strawberries, walnuts, feta, bacon and mushrooms ($7.99). Kids will clamor for the four-cheese (American, Swiss, provolone and cheddar) grilled cheese sandwich ($6.99), served with french fries.

Heads Up: Although planted firmly in the summer vacation area of Point Pleasant Beach, this cafe caters to locals as well as tourists. Off season it’s the kind of place where you’d run into your kid’s friend’s parents having a late breakfast.

The Scoop: I’m A Local opened two summers ago at the south end of the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk. Superstorm Sandy destroyed the building. The new location, launched in late spring on the north end of town, is more homey and charming. The Victorian-style house has the warmth of a friend’s kitchen.
