THE SCOOP

This popular deli is takeout only and brings together several styles of food, from traditional Italian deli-style sandwiches and salads to comfort food like grilled cheese and mac and cheese. It was voted as serving the best sandwich on the Jersey Shore by WRAT radio. The incredible bread is made here fresh daily.

THE MENU

The grilled chicken sandwich, with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers, was delicious—and a large version was big enough for two people to eat for lunch. The homemade fried eggplant parm sub and classic turkey or roast beef sandwiches are also worth trying. Josie’s serves six different kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches, including one made with pork roll. The salads include arugula, provolone and pear, as well as Italian chicken salad.

HEADS UP

Call ahead to order, as the wait can be long at times. Josie’s has also been named for having one of the best cheese steaks in the state. The deli is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
