STYLE

Spacious eatery with attached brewery has brick walls, high ceilings, cool lighting and plenty of tables. The bar, with stools, runs the width of the room.

THE SCOOP

Opened in 2018 by Brendan and Robin Sciarra in a former Harley-Davidson dealership, Mudhen is the sole brewery in Wildwood. The establishment took the nickname of the first train to serve the Shore town.

THE MENU

Obviously, there is a lengthy, oft-changing beer menu, so start there. Make your own flight—a choice of four 5-ounce sips. The food menu extends beyond typical bar eats with daily soups, hearty entrées, and creative mac and cheeses. Try the beer chip nacho starter—house-made Hen potato chips with cheddar and pilsner beer cheese, chiptole crema, pico de gallo and shredded lettuce—and have them topped with pulled pork, barbecue smoked chicken, brisket or crabmeat. Burgers are stacked high with fixings and come with Hen chips; fries, onion rings or salad are additional. Smoked meats include ribs, wings, brisket and pork. Vegetarian and fish dishes are also available.

HEADS UP

The restaurant is dog friendly, and there’s plenty of outdoor seating and parking.
