Don’t Miss: You can’t go wrong with the filet mignon ($30), which has been Oyster Bay’s special for thirteen years. What’s so special about it? The combination of tender beef topped with jumbo lump crab in a creamy sauce. Try the garlic mash, too; it’s one of the side options that comes with your entrée. Seafood lovers should have the New England clambake ($29), which is the best of the sea world: 1.25-pound lobster with shrimp, scallops, and clams, all steamed in herbed butter.

Heads Up: Oyster Bay is a traditional steak house, right down to the rich, dark colors of the interior. But you don’t need to dress up. It might be a steak house, but it’s still down the Shore, and the atmosphere keeps a casual Cape May feel. The restaurant is near the center of town and the ocean if you want to walk off your dinner. Also, no sharing or tapas-style dining allowed—one entrée per person is a requirement. Call for reservations.

The Scoop: Oyster Bay has an impressive wine list, but it’s the martini menu that is a standout, offering everything from peach to chocolate twists on a steak-house classic. They also offer the full menu at the bar, which is made of copper.
