Upscale yet casual café on Ocean Grove’s main shopping street, three blocks from the beach.

Don’t Miss: The Combo Salad at lunch. This daily special presents jumbo sea scallops (from Jersey waters, when available) and plump shrimps atop greens, Craisins and Asian pears, all graced with an herb-infused extra-virgin olive oil ($17). For starters, try the cornflower-crusted oysters (a daily special for lunch or dinner, $14), or a cup of New England Clam Chowdah ($5; bowl, $6). Additional dinner appetizers include seared day-boat sea scallops ($14) and crispy fried calamari with soy dipping sauce ($13). Salads include the baby spinach and warm pancetta, punctuated with sliced red grapes, toasted pecans, grape tomatoes, edamame, parmigiano-reggiano and herb-infused EVOO ($12). The dinner menu tempts with at least seven seafood entrées. The highlight: tuxedo crusted ahi tuna, a thick cut of locally sourced, ginger-glazed tuna with a wasabi sauce, red bliss potatoes and sautéed snow peas ($28). Similarly enticing is the crispy skin Atlantic salmon, served over beluga lentils and wilted spinach ($24). On the beefy side, consider the pulled short rib, tossed with house-made pappardelle pasta, broccoli, tomatoes and mascarpone cheese ($19).

Heads Up: Grab a sidewalk table and enjoy the artsy Ocean Grove scene. About half the dinner menu is gluten free.

The Scoop: From late October to mid-May, Seagrass offers half-price entrées on Monday nights. “I do it for the locals,” says co-owner Janine Cinseruli.
