Wokworks in Margate City
STYLE
A fast-casual Asian eatery with bright-pink accents, a few cute booths inside, small tables on the front porch, and picnic tables along the side of the building.
THE SCOOP
The Philadelphia-born Wokworks, with multiple locations and food carts located throughout the city, opened its first New Jersey location this past summer.
THE MENU
Noodle and rice bowls are the stars of the menu. The delicious drunken noodles come with thick rice noodles, lemongrass grilled chicken, wild-caught shrimp and colorful veggies, topped with spicy chili-garlic sauce, scallions and crispy wonton chips. Some lo meins are made with thinner noodles and come with dan dan chicken, lobster or tofu. Tiger fried rice comes with chicken, umami tiger sauce and plenty of veggies.
If you build your own bowl, choose any size noodle or white rice; meat, seafood or tofu (or no protein); one or two sauces that are ranked by spice levels; and toppings like veggies, crispy wonton chips, scallions and sesame seeds. For extra heat, you can add hot Thai chilies. Don’t skip out on the sides, like crispy spring rolls or Korean fried wings, or the house-brewed iced teas.
HEADS UP
There are vegan and gluten-free options across the menu.
