If you’ve ever been to Ninety Acres restaurant in Peapack-Gladstone—a regular on New Jersey Monthly’s Best Restaurants list—you may have spied a historic stone mansion in the distance. A stellar example of Tudor-style architecture, the building was once a private home for a Moroccan royal. Today it has been masterfully re-envisioned as premier getaway destination that opened this past fall.
Making the most of the sprawling property, Pendry Natirar added Ladd’s Tavern, a new dining venture that joins the original celebrated eatery. Also new are the 66 guest rooms in the mansion hotel and a world-class spa. The new amenities join the existing cooking school, 3,200-plus-bottle wine cellar and 10-acre farm that supplies the restaurants with fresh herbs and produce. A 25-meter swimming pool and 275-seat ballroom make Pendry Natirar a fully contained getaway destination and special-occasion venue.

WHAT TO DO
A day here is relaxation central. Tour the farm, where you can pick wildflower bouquets and even learn to expertly arrange them. Meet the flock of sheep that graze on the property and will soon give their wool for products to be used and sold there. Pay a visit to the flock of chickens who produce eggs for the restaurants., and the bees whose hives supply honey. Cooking classes are offered in the state-of-the-art school that has operated since 2010. Visit the spa to lounge in a recliner by the indoor tranquility plunge pool or to partake in one of the luxurious body treatments.
WHERE TO EAT
Ninety Acres has been an area go-to since 2009, with a lively bar scene and a cuisine that draws locals and Manhattanites alike. The flagship eatery continues to wow guests with its expertly executed sustainable menu. The farm-to-table aesthetic expands its repertoire at the hands of Peter Rudolph, who grew his culinary prowess on the West Coast, where he earned Michelin accolades. Rudolph brings the riches of the Garden State’s bounty to the plate.
In the new, upscale Ladd’s Tavern—named after the Ladd family, the mansion’s original owners, who sold the property to the King of Morocco, Hassan II in 1983—an all-day menu of light bites, cocktails and afternoon tea is offered.
