Giving Back: Easterseals New Jersey Raises Over $100,000 at Annual Fundraiser

Plus: Turning Point Restaurants raises $74,000 for the Kortney Rose Foundation, the Eastwick Foundation donates $40,000 to local food banks and more.

1. Play With Purpose

Easterseals New Jersey’s annual fundraiser, Play With Purpose, raised over $100,000 in support of services for individuals with disabilities. Celebrating were, from left, Tanisha Green, Carleen Jules, Marianne Toich, Bill Spadea of NJ 101.5 and Betty Chin.

2. Raising Funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research

D Fitness Studio in Brick raised $750 for the Jar of Hope Foundation, dedicated to raising funds in the hope of eliminating Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Marking the occasion were, from left, Danielle Ippolito, founder of D Fitness Studio; Karen Raffone; and Gina Velazquez.

3. Serving Individuals With Developmental Disabilities

Michael Carpenter of Knights of Columbus St. Thomas More Council #2188, left, presents a $5,500 donation to Chris Perry, president and CEO of Spectrum for Living, an organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Bergen, Passaic, Monmouth and Middlesex counties.

4. Great Food for a Cause

During its annual Great Food for a Cause event, Turning Point Restaurants raised more than $74,000 for the Kortney Rose Foundation (KRF) to help fund research on pediatric brain tumors. Kristen and Rich Gillette of KRF, left, happily accept a check from Turning Point owners Kirk and Pam Ruoff.

5. Supporting Local Food Banks

The Eastwick Foundation’s Feed the Hungry program raised $40,000 to be distributed to eight local food banks. Celebrating were, from left, front row: Lisa Rivera, Jane He, Kate Duggan, Thomas M. 6. Chefs Team Up to Raise Funds for Ment’or

The 10th annual New Jersey Wine & Food Festival at Crystal Springs Resort raised $250,000 for Ment’or, a culinary nonprofit organization dedicated to chef education and preservation of the traditions and quality of cuisine in America. Guests included notable chefs Thomas Keller and Daniel Boulud, Ment’or chefs, and winemakers from around the world.
