1. Check Out Hunger
In partnership with the Check-Out Hunger Campaign, over 100 QuickChek locations raised $160,000 to help local food banks feed hungry families. 2. A Whole Lot of Hope
Red Bank Public Schools Superintendent Jared Rumage, right, assists as Hope 8 band leader Bobby Bandiera signs a $16,024 check benefiting the middle school’s art collaboration program with the Count Basie Theatre. The annual Hope 8 concert helped to raise more than $500,000 for area charities.
3. Milestones Achieved
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Parsippany were, from left, Steve McKinley, Steve Dickens, Bob Young, Deborah Mellinger and Connie Keller. Kiwanis is a worldwide organization focused on serving children.
4. Grants Galore
Karen Tucker, center, of the Adler Aphasia Center, happily accepts a $2,500 grant from Ada Melendez, left, and Ebru Kuscan-Aguirre of Investors Bank. The grant will support the growth of the center’s Aphasia Communications Groups throughout New Jersey.
5. Toys For Tots
Kevin Coughlin, left, and David DiBartolo of Applebee’s present a $231,917 check to Pete Osman to support the United States Marine Corps’ Toys For Tots Foundation, which benefits underprivileged children by brightening their holidays and delivering a message of hope.
6. Women Unite
Women United in Philanthropy recently awarded a $75,000 grant to support Holy Name Medical Center’s Multiple Sclerosis Center. The grant will fund free screenings, neuropsychological evaluations and consultations to help women retain their jobs by developing a preventative plan of action.
