1. A Star-studded Event
Deadpool, Super Girl and Batman showed up at the 2016 Starry Night Gala to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society (ACS). 2. A Gala For The Kids
Enjoying the Children’s Aid and Family Service’s (CAFS) spring fundraising gala were Jerry Binney, left, president and CEO of CAFS, and his wife, Lily, along with CAFS board of trustees member Tyler Mathisen. The event raised $200,000 for the nonprofit, which provides human services and child-welfare programs in northern New Jersey.
3. Supporting Future Chefs
The Joe Romanowski Culinary Education Foundation awarded $30,000 in scholarships to students at the Culinary Education Center in Asbury Park including, from left, Tyler Berman, Chris Ross, Deandre Forman, Ehrich Ballard, Erin Cotterell, Kendall Szpakowsky and, kneeling in front, Emily Yasi.
4. An Event Full of LIFE
Val Skinner, back row, fifth from right, brought together some of the leading LPGA players to compete in the Val Skinner Foundation LIFE Event. Over the past 17 years, the foundation has raised more than $10.5 million to support the fight to eradicate breast cancer.
5. Scholarship Gives Back To Volunteer
Ariana Gutierrez, center, a volunteer at Hackensack University Medical Center Palisades, is the recipient of the 2016 NJ Association of Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals Vital Link Scholarship. Celebrating with her were Harry Montalvo, left, and Denise Whitley of HackensackUMC Palisades.
6. Clowing Around For A Good Cause
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey made a $10,000 donation to Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to support local pediatric patients. Along with their check, Ringling Bros. brought performers to the hospital to share laughter and joy with children and their families.
