Here’s a fun new swimwear collection created by two Jersey girls, Lauren Stracquatanio and Rachel Kehoe. Better known as Lo and Rae, they are the co-founders and designers of Lo and Rae Swimwear.
Best friends since high school, the girls grew up spending summers at the Shore, where their idea of the “perfect outfit” was simply a swimsuit.
Lo went on to study business at Villanova University, while Rae pursued her love for fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Each summer, they reconnected at their favorite beaches, but always felt frustrated when trying to find the perfect bikini. “We couldn’t understand why it was so hard to find high-quality swimsuits in classic silhouettes and great colors, at a reasonable price,” Lo says. “So, one year ago, we decided to take matters into our own hands, and we founded Lo and Rae Swimwear.”
“Our mission is to offer swimsuits that exude confidence, comfort and style with timeless designs and an affordable price tag,” says Rae. “Our suits are seamless and double-lined with a buttery-soft fabric that fits and feels amazing. Your Lo and Rae swimsuit will quickly become your go-to bikini.”
The 24-year-old entrepreneurs admit that they are wearing many hats as co-owners, designers and marketers, currently running their online business out of Jersey City. This spring and summer, their swimsuit collection is making a splash in boutiques around New Jersey and New York.
“Our flattering bikinis are available in three styles (strapless, sporty and triangle-bralette) in four gorgeous, stand-out colors,” Lo says. “We did not feel that stylish and high-quality swimwear should have an over-$200 price tag, which is why our bikinis are an affordable $98 per set, creating a suit that is reasonably priced and able to be worn season after season,” Rae adds.
