“Allusive and enigmatic, Shadow is a master of ambiance. But do consumers actually buy paint based on the “color of the year” concept? “Absolutely,” says Hugh Cole of my fave paint store, Ricciardi Brothers in Morristown. (I think it’s cool that this color expert’s name is “Hugh.”) “Simply White was Benjamin Moore’s 2016 Color of the Year and we definitely saw a spike in its sales. Each year, the featured color is always a good choice. The just-announced shade for 2017, Shadow, is a rich, complex color with earthy undertones.”
Benjamin Moore also just unveiled Color Trends 2017, a compatible palette that features 23 rich and sophisticated hues ranging from muted pales to saturated deeps. In curating the palette, the Color Studio lent significant consideration to the pairing of colors and relationships between color families, as well as a newfound level of color confidence in deeper hues among design professionals and consumers.
