Just for Summer: Pop-Up Shops on Asbury Park’s Boardwalk

There’s still time to check out a few of the pop-up stores that have added foot traffic to Asbury Park’s boardwalk this summer.

United By Blue is a general store for the modern era. Stop by this rugged hipster haven to peruse their cute graphic tees, trendy aluminum water bottles and cotton pouches printed with illustrations of constellations and mountain ranges. You’ll also find a limited line of screen-printed Asbury Park merch. The line’s classic logo design makes it cool enough for locals and tourists alike.

UBB carries eclectic gear like a canvas and leather beer carrier for your bicycle and Klean Kanteen sustainable water bottles and tumblers. You’ll also find all-American brands like Shinola of Detroit, which UBB partners with for leather and stationary goods.

Ideal for this oceanfront locale, United By Blue also pledges to remove one pound of trash from the world’s waterways for each item sold. The outdoor brand organizes year-round community cleanups in 25 states, including Asbury and other New Jersey locations. That’s a purchase we Shore (and shopping) lovers can get behind.

Havaianas is another beach-season favorite. The original flip-flop brand, Havaianas was the first to create the rubber version of the sandals we know and love today. Their trademark flip-flops come in hundreds of bright colors and patterns, plus there’s a line for kids with Disney characters and fun summer designs. Walls of colorful sandals make window-shopping along the boardwalk a real treat. The brand even has some green, yellow and white sandals to celebrate their Brazilian pride, as well as a limited-edition Rio 2016 Olympics design for this summer’s games (sold exclusively in Brazil).
