At the Beauty Lounge the vibe is low-key, the products are top-notch and the services are rendered by hand-picked Manhattan specialists. “I wanted to bring the best of everything here,” says owner Illyne Anidjar, a Summit resident and former New Yorker who spent her early career at Frédéric Fekkai salon and Barneys New York. On Mondays, Anidjar hosts a New York City hairstylist and colorist in her shop so customers can enjoy premier services sans the trip across the river, city prices and hectic atmosphere. Once a month, she brings in an eyebrow specialist. On the retail end, Anidjar keeps the bar high with assorted skin-care lines (Clark’s Botanicals and Finn & Co.), off-the-beaten-path perfumes (I Am and Leila Lou), fashion, jewelry and accessories.

“I carry designs that I find unique and special—anything I love,” says Anidjar. Things she loves include Skin loungewear, Pinnington cosmetic bags and an array of scent-based products, such as candles and reed diffusers. “It’s all about offering things that make people feel good,” she says, adding that, aside from e-mail blasts and a Facebook page, customers find her shop through word of mouth. “My clients are like extensions of my family. They bring their friends here; husbands come to shop for their wives. I know their families.”
