Sfisco and his stable of four designers work in a 3,000-square-foot luxury shop brimming with an eclectic mix of furniture and accents.
Sfisco’s style has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens and on the TLC network. He also worked with Doris Duke and her butler, Bernard Lafferty, in designing interiors for the renowned Duke Estate in Hillsborough.
“I don’t decorate with matched sets of furniture because today the trend is to mix styles, textures and colors," Sfisco says. "Rather than covering a sofa in a busy pattern, I prefer a neutral sofa with bright pillows in a mix of ikat, geometric and Greek-key designs. My favorite upholstery fabrics are Belgian linen, cotton and velvet in updated but subdued colors. Strive for a new, clean twist on traditional. You don’t have to be 20-something to re-invent yourself with fresh palettes and patterns.”
