La Prairie Skincare Taps Survivalist Plants

You heard it here first. La Prairie, a world leader in skincare, will launch a cool plant-based collection in April.

Swiss-Alp plant ingredients are packed into La Prairie's new skincare line.

Who doesn’t want radiant, younger-looking skin, especially in today’s world of extreme temperatures, climate change, pollution and stress?

How clever of La Prairie to look to its home country of Switzerland to discover and harvest two alpine plants and one algae that have the ability to withstand harsh elements and thrive at high altitudes within the Alps.

The result is La Prairie’s Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Collection and its three newest urban-defender products: Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Serum, Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream SPF 30, and Cellular Swiss UV Protection Veil SPF 50.

Here’s the skinny on these plant-based treats:

Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Serum -$320
We really like this lightweight serum that’s designed to combat the first signs of aging. Use it as part of your daily skincare to help protect from stress, daily assaults of the environment and pollution. It’s fortified with Winter Daphne, a purified plant stem cell extract that helps boosts microcirculation and strengthen the skin’s protective barrier.

Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming Cream SPF 30 – $195
This multi-tasking treatment offers color and cosmetic enhancements for first-signs-of-aging users as it helps defend and protect. The formula contains Bellis Perennis extract from wild-collected daisy flowers (We want that job!) and helps lighten and brighten skin as it color-corrects pigments.

Cellular Swiss UV Protection Veil SPF 50 – $185
We give this light-as-air, broad-spectrum sun protection a big thumbs-up. It provides strong UVA/UVB coverage and anti-oxidant defense, thanks to resilient Swiss Noble Edelweiss flower extracts and Swiss Glacier Water. Fortified with Smart Crystal White, a licorice-based herbal brightening formula, it also helps inhibit melanin production, improve skin clarity, reduce dullness, and brighten skin tone.

You can find these three urban defenders at Bloomingdale’s in Short Hills and at other fine cosmetics counters, but you’ll have to wait until mid-April. (I told you you’re hearing it here first.)
